Used devices for resale
Track the phones, tablets and computers you resell, each with its own UD number, grade and price, and sell them at the register.
Used devices is your shelf of second-hand devices for sale. Each one is tracked on its own, with a UD number, its serial or IMEI, a grade and a price, and it sells through the register like anything else.
Owners and managers add and change used devices. Everyone can look them up, and anyone who makes sales can sell one. Only owners and managers see what you paid and the margin.
Add a used device
Use this for a device you got from a supplier or already own. For a device you're buying from a customer at the counter, use Buy from a customer instead.
- Open Used devices in the left menu.
- Select Add used device.
- Tap the Kind of device. Only the fields for that kind show.
- Enter the Manufacturer and Model.
- Pick the Grade (below).
- Add the details you have, such as Serial number, IMEI, Storage, Colour, Carrier and Battery health %. Computers also have processor, memory and screen fields; consoles have edition and controllers.
- Enter the Cost (what you paid) and the Price.
- Add any Notes and select Add to stock.
It gets the next UD number and shows on the In stock tab.
Grades
- A · Excellent: like new.
- B · Good: light wear.
- C · Fair: clearly used.
- D · Poor: cracked, or something doesn't work.
The same grades set your buy prices for devices bought from customers.
Find a device
In stock shows each device as a card with its price, grade, battery health and how long it's been on the shelf. After 30 days, a tag flags it, and the device suggests a small price drop. Filter by kind of device, or search by model, serial, IMEI or UD number. You can scan a UD label, serial or IMEI.
Sold lists what's sold, with the invoice. Everything lists every device with its status.
Sell one
- Open the device.
- Select Sell at the register.
Sales opens with the device already in the sale. You can also scan its UD label or search its UD number, IMEI or model in Sales. Once it's on an invoice, the device is marked Sold and linked to that invoice.
To put a sold device back in stock, take it off its invoice.
Returned or scrapped
When a device goes back to its supplier, or can't be sold, open it and select Returned to supplier or Scrapped. It comes off the shelf and out of the register. Select Undo on the message if you picked the wrong one, or Back in stock later.
A device bought from a customer that's still on hold can't be sold, returned or scrapped until the hold ends. See The buy log and holds.
Change a device
Open it, select the Edit tab, make your changes and select Save device. Select Print label to label it for the shelf.
