Store credit, gift cards and standing discounts
Give a customer store credit or a gift card, let them spend it at the counter, and set a discount that comes off by itself.
Each customer has an Account card on their page. It holds their gift cards, store credit and standing discounts, and shows the Credit to spend in total.
Owners and managers can issue and void credit and set standing discounts. Anyone who takes payments can spend a customer's credit at the counter.
Give store credit or a gift card
- Open the customer and find the Account card.
- Choose Credit.
- Pick Store credit or Gift card.
- Enter the Amount.
- Add a Card number for a gift card, or a Reference for store credit, if you have one.
- Under Why, add a note if it helps, such as a goodwill credit for a late repair. It shows on their account.
- Choose Issue and the amount.
Each credit is listed with who issued it, when, and how much is left.
Store credit also lands on an account when you refund to store credit, or when you buy a device from a customer and pay them in credit.
Spend credit at the counter
When you add the customer to a sale on the Sales page, the cart shows how much credit they have to spend. In the Take payment window, their store credit or gift card appears as a way to pay, with the amount left. Pick it, and if they have more than one, choose which. Whatever isn't spent stays on their account. See Take a payment.
Void credit issued by mistake
- Choose the void icon on the credit.
- Choose Void and the amount to confirm.
The customer can't spend what was left, and this can't be undone. Only void credit that shouldn't have been issued.
Set a standing discount
A standing discount comes off the customer's invoices by itself, so nobody has to remember it at the counter.
- On the Account card, choose Discount.
- Give it a Name, such as First responder or Senior.
- Enter how much is Off, and pick Percent or Dollars.
- Leave Every invoice on to apply it every time. Turn it off to take it off the next invoice only.
- Choose Add discount.
It applies to new invoices for repairs, counter sales, appointments and part requests. Each one shows whether it's for every invoice or the next one only, and when it was last used. To stop it, choose the cross beside it.
