Ring up a sale at the register

Sell stock, used devices and one-off items on the Sales page, with or without a customer, then take the money.

The Sales page is your register. Use it for anything sold over the counter that isn't part of a repair: a case, a cable, a used phone, a quick fix. Each sale becomes an invoice, so it shows up in Invoices and in your reports.

Owners, managers and front desk staff can ring up sales. Technicians don't see Sales in the menu.

Add items to the cart

The search box at the top is ready as soon as the page opens.

  1. Scan a barcode, or type a name, SKU, IMEI or UD number.
  2. Press Enter to add the top match, or tap the item's tile.
  3. Tap the same tile again to add another. Use the minus and plus buttons on a cart line to change the quantity.

You can also scan with your device's camera using the barcode button in the search box.

With nothing typed, the page shows Quick sell tiles: parts you've marked "Quick sell at the point of sale" in Inventory. When your stock has categories, chips above the tiles let you browse one category at a time.

A used device is one of a kind, so it goes in the cart once, marked 1 of 1.

Sell something that isn't in stock

  1. Choose Custom item.
  2. Pick Part or accessory or Service.
  3. Enter the Item, Qty and Price each.
  4. Under Tax, tap a tax to turn it off or on for this line. With every tax off, the line shows No tax.
  5. Choose Add to cart.

If a search finds nothing, Add it as a custom item starts one with the name you typed.

To take a line off, use the bin icon. Clear empties the whole cart. Both offer Undo for a few seconds.

Add the customer

A sale with no customer is a cash sale. To put it on someone's account, type their name or phone number in the box above the cart and pick them. If they're new, choose Add "name" as a new customer, enter a Name and Phone, then Add to this sale.

Once a customer is picked, the cart shows any store credit they have to spend and any standing discount that will come off. See Store credit, gift cards and standing discounts.

Give a discount

  1. Choose Discount above the cart.
  2. Tap a quick pick, or enter a Name and how much is Off, as Percent or Dollars.
  3. Under Applies to, choose The whole sale or one line.
  4. Choose Apply discount.

Discounts come off before tax. If your store limits discounts, a large one may need an owner or manager's PIN. See Discount limits, refunds and approval PINs.

Check out

  1. Pick how they're paying: Cash, Debit or Credit. More has e-Transfer, cheque, store credit, gift cards and other.
  2. Choose the big button at the bottom of the cart, such as Take $25.00 cash.
  3. The sale is saved as an invoice, and the Take payment window opens to confirm the amount. See Take a payment.

To pay with more than one method, choose Split it under the button. If the customer walks away before paying, choose Leave it unpaid. The invoice stays in Invoices with the balance owing.

Tip: Today's sales at the top of the page lists everything rung up today, with what's still owing.
