End of day and the cash drawer

Cash up at closing with the end-of-day report: what came in by method, what should be in the drawer, and what the shop did.

The end-of-day report is your cash-up. It shows what came in today by each way of paying, what should be in the cash drawer, and how the workshop did. Print it and put it with the till, or email it to yourself.

Owners, managers and front desk staff can see it. For front desk staff, it's End of day in the menu. Owners and managers find it under Reports, on the End of day tab.

Cash up the drawer

  1. Open End of day. It shows today.
  2. Look at Expected in the drawer. It's your cash float, plus cash taken, less cash refunds, less any cash paid out for devices you bought from customers.
  3. Count the drawer and compare.
  4. Choose Print for a sheet to keep. It has the cash-up worked out, with blank lines for Counted and Difference to fill in by hand.

Your cash float is set in Settings › Invoicing and taxes. See Payment methods, taxes and cash rounding.

What the report shows

The tiles across the top:

  • Net sales: everything taken, less refunds.
  • Expected in the drawer: the cash-up figure, with how it was worked out underneath.
  • Invoices paid: how many, and the average ticket.
  • Deposits taken: deposits on repairs that aren't invoiced yet.

Below them:

  • Money by method lists each way of paying with how many payments and how much, then refunds and the net.
  • Sales breaks the day down by kind of device and by who took the money.
  • The workshop counts repairs checked in and finished, and how many are ready for pickup, in progress and waiting on parts.

A day with nothing taken, checked in or finished says so.

Money counts on the day it was taken, not the day the invoice was made.

Use the arrows beside the date to step back or forward a day, or pick a date and choose Show. You can't go past today.

Email it

Choose Email it to me to send the day's report to your own email address. The button says Sent for a moment once it's gone.

Tip: Payment method names on the report are your store's own, so they match what's on the till.
