Find your way around

A quick tour of OnSite: the left menu, the Overview, the search box, notifications and the Clock in button.

OnSite has the same layout on every screen: a menu down the left, and a bar across the top with search, your clock, notifications and your name. On a phone, the menu button at the top left opens the menu.

The left menu

The menu shows only what your role lets you use, so it may look different from a co-worker's.

  • Daily work: Overview, My workday, Appointments, Service orders, Quotes, Customers, Messages, Sales and Invoices.
  • Purchasing: Part requests, Purchase orders and Vendors.
  • Stock: Loaner phones, Inventory and Used devices.
  • Your time: Counter tablet and My timesheet.
  • Store: Reports (or End of day), Timesheets and Settings, for the people who look after the store.

Small numbers beside an item show what's waiting, such as open service orders, unpaid invoices, unread texts or parts low on stock.

The Overview

The Overview is your home screen. It shows:

  • Tiles for open repairs: Open, Pending, In progress, On hold and Ready for pickup. Select one to see that list.
  • Needs action: repairs that are Flagged, Waiting on customer, need a Follow up, or that you Pinned.
  • At the counter: what's Ready for pickup and what was Completed today.
  • Team workload: how many open repairs each technician has.
  • Appointments today and Part requests still to order.

If you take payments, you also see Today: revenue, payments and devices completed, with this week and this month.

My workday shows your own bench: what you're working on, what's up next, and what's waiting on someone.

The search box at the top finds customers by name, phone or email, devices by serial or IMEI, and service orders, invoices and part requests by number. Press Ctrl K to jump to it from anywhere.

Type a number and press Enter, and if only one record matches, it opens straight away. That works with a barcode scanner too. On a phone or tablet, the camera button scans a label, ticket or IMEI. Click into the empty box to see the records you opened recently.

Notifications

The bell shows a count when something needs you: someone mentions you in a note, flags your work, or assigns you a repair. Select it to see the list, and select an item to open it. Mark all read clears the count.

To choose what reaches your bell, see Your account.

Clock in

Select Clock in in the top bar when you start your shift. While you're on the clock, the button shows how long you've worked. Select it to Take a break or Clock out. See Clock in and keep your timesheet.

Your name and store

Your name at the top right opens a menu with:

  • Your stores, to switch to another store you work at.
  • My account, for your name, photo, password and notifications.
  • Theme, which switches between matching your device, light and dark.
  • Sign out.

Ctrl Shift S opens this menu from anywhere.
