The counter tablet
Set up a tablet facing the customer so they can read your repair terms and sign for their repair with a finger.
The counter tablet faces the customer across the counter. When you check in a repair, you send it to the tablet. The customer reads the repair, reads your terms and signs with their finger, while you keep working on your own screen. The signature prints on the ticket, under the repair terms.
Set up the tablet
- On the tablet, sign in to OnSite at your store.
- In the left menu, choose Counter tablet.
- Stand the tablet where the customer can reach it.
The screen shows your store's name, the time and a welcome while it waits. It fills the whole screen, with no menu. To get back to OnSite on the tablet, tap Leave the counter tablet.
Send a repair to the tablet
- Open the service order on your own screen.
- On the Signature card, click Ask on the counter tablet.
The tablet switches to the repair straight away. If it doesn't, check that it's showing Counter tablet and signed in to the same store.
You can also click Sign here to have the customer sign on your own screen instead.
What the customer does
- They check the repair: their name, the device and the problem.
- They read your repair terms. A hint asks them to scroll to read all the terms, and changes to All read once they reach the end.
- They sign in the box with a finger. The cross on the line, or Clear, starts the signature again.
- They tap I agree, save my signature. The button waits until there's a signature.
The tablet thanks them by first name and says they can hand it back. After a few seconds it returns to the welcome, ready for the next customer.
If the customer changes their mind, Cancel takes the tablet back to the welcome without saving.
Make the text bigger
Tap Aa at the top to make the text larger for customers who need it. Tap it again to go back.
After they sign
The service order's Signature card shows Signed, with their signature and when they signed. The check-in list ticks off their signature. If they need to sign again, click Sign again or send it to the tablet again.
