More than one store

Add and close locations, switch between them, share staff across stores, and copy settings from one store to another.

One OnSite business can have several stores. Each store keeps its own customers, repairs and stock, and you pay for them all on one bill. People can work at more than one store with one sign-in.

Add a store

Only owners can add a store.

  1. Go to Settings › Stores and select Add a store.
  2. Fill in the Store name, a Short code, the Time zone and the Street address. The short code is filled in from the name; change it if you like.
  3. Under Start it with, choose OnSite's starting setup, or a copy of one of your stores' setup. A copy brings its settings, price book, device models, drop-off checks and completion codes. It never brings customers, repairs, stock, staff, technician routing or pay.
  4. Select Add store.
  5. Check the cost shown, then select Add with the store's name to confirm.

The business's owners are added to the new store as owners. To add its staff, switch to the new store and use Settings › Staff.

Switch stores

Select your name at the top right and pick a store under Your stores, or press Ctrl Shift S. Each store shows your role there. When you sign in, you pick a store from the same list.

People at several stores

To have someone work at a second store:

  1. Switch to the second store.
  2. Go to Settings › Staff and select Add someone.
  3. Type the email they already sign in with and choose their role at this store.
  4. Select Add to the store. No starting password is needed.

They keep one sign-in and one password, and they can have a different role at each store. On your plan's user count, they count once. See Billing and plans.

Copy settings from another store

Owners and managers can bring settings over from another store where they're also an owner or manager.

  1. Open the store you want to change, then go to Settings.
  2. Select Copy settings from another store at the top of the page.
  3. Choose the store to copy From, if you have more than one to pick from.
  4. Under Which sections, choose what to copy: Ticket and warranty, Loaner phones, Customer messages, Invoicing and taxes, Price book and devices, Completion codes, Store hours, Service orders, Timesheets and pay, Labels, or Buying devices.
  5. Select Copy.
Important: The copy replaces this store's own settings for the sections you pick, and it can't be undone from here. Customers, repairs, stock, staff, technician routing and pay rates are never copied. Service orders already open keep their lines and prices.

Close a store

Only owners can close a store, and only when the business has more than one open store.

  1. Go to Settings › Stores and select Close beside the store.
  2. Select Close it.

No one can open it afterwards, and it's no longer billed. Its customers, repairs and invoices are kept. Closed stores are listed under the open ones. This can't be undone from here; contact OnSite if you need a store reopened.
